Local Control Panel is usually installed at the location near to or next to the primary equipment, such as Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS). It is designed to control and monitor the operations and positions of primary equipment in the substation such as Circuit Breakers, Disconnectors, Earth Switches etc. It is also monitoring the gas compartments of the GIS. With the mimic diagram on the panel, it visualizes the one line diagram of substation for operation control purposes. The circuit breaker operation or trip counters installed on the panel are used for recording and maintenance reference purposes. Control panel is also designed to equip with alarm audible system, annunciator, alarm facia and pilot lamps to capture and to indicate any alarm signals received. The local control panel is designed to equip with meters and transducers to provide electrical measurement information.
